LANSING — The Michigan Democratic Party issued the following statement today on behalf of Chief Operating Officer Lavora Barnes regarding Governor Rick Snyder’s decision to sign bills that slash the minimum wage increase and gut the earned paid sick time law:

“Rick Snyder is rubbing salt in the wounds of Michigan’s workers after they endured eight years of Republican politicians rigging the economy against them. This just means paychecks will be smaller and families already struggling will fall further behind — while wealthy special interests continue to benefit. It’s no wonder Michiganders overwhelmingly voted against Snyder’s legacy of failure this past November. We look forward to working with the new, Democratic leadership in Lansing to undo the years of damage done by the consistent Republican attacks on working families.”
